Medipac / Bag leak testing device
Its latest development in the area of the industrial leak testing innomatec presents the Medipac, a computer based leak test device as table top unit with integrated vacuum generation.
Product description
The bag leak testing device Medipac as a stand-alone table device for automatic leak testing of medical engineering and pharmaceutical products sterile or non-sterile packed in seam-welded bags.
However, it can also be used in other sectors where packaging is to be tested
It can be used for random checks as well as for 100% checks in small and medium size batches and, due to validated software, fulfils the high requirement of a medical engineering device
By being able to change the specimen fixtures as well as the testing program the device can be used for different sized bags or shapes. Typical sterile packed products are e.g. medicine, dental implants or surgical sewing kits. Users are manufactures of medical engineering and pharmaceutical products
Operating principle
The specimen in manually inserted into the testing device and covered with a movable flap or inserted into a specimen testing device.
Depending on the device, up to 6 specimens can be tested independently at the same time.
Then the test chamber is closed using a bell cap and evacuated
A leak-proof bag expands in the vacuum, lifts the flap up a certain extent and stays in position within a defined retaining time of approx. 5 seconds or actuates a lever.
In case the flap or the lever does not reach the pre-programmed position, the bag is recognised as having a leak.
If the flap lowers within the retaining time, this is an indication of a slight leak or it only being tight for a short time and a not OK message is given.
The test results can be output via an integrated printer or via an interface to a master control unit.
The configuration is carried out by the user.
Being a medical engineering device, the leak testing device is equipped with validated testing software.
